Britney's sister has baby

Look out, world, the family Spears just got one bigger. Yes, Britney's little sister, 17-year-old Jamie Lynn has given birth to her first child – and it's a girl. Or as Canada's Edmonton Sun put it: "Britney 2, Jamie Lynn 1".
According to AP, the new arrival has been named Maddie Briann – but we have no idea why. The hospital weren't very helpful either. "We understand everybody's interested," said Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center spokeswoman Ellen Brannan, "but we don't give out information on anyone. Everyone's entitled to their privacy."
Although Jamie Lynn and fiancé Casey Aldridge, 19, were also tight-lipped, desperate eager journalists have been digging out long-lost relatives, who had plenty to say.
"She's awfully young to be a momma," said distant cousin Margie Busby (Margie Busby!). "But that's what they make [grandmothers] for. They have to help. That's the way it is with our circle of friends."
"I didn't even know she had the baby," said second cousin Janet Bridges, who despite being kept out of the loop, was fond of the nipper's chosen name. "Ooh, I like 'Maddie,'" she added.
"It's easy to have them, but hard to raise them," said relative Charlie Spears, sternly. "I hope she's healthy, and I hope they raise a good baby."
Jamie Lynn managed to finish filming the fourth series of Nickelodeon TV comedy Zoey 101, in which she stars as a student starting at a boarding school that's just gone co-educational, before she became pregnant.
